Innova Culture

Our people driven culture displays this so well to me because we work hard to make sure that everyone feels like they belong at Innova Coffee. This culture does not come from the shop itself but it overflows from behind the bar. (This post written by one of our baristas, Zach Wilson.)

Suddenly It's Summer at Innova Coffee

We are completely overwhelmed by the offer of 4700 Colonnade to set up a more permanent space in their lovely clubhouse. After a year of camping out here it’s time to make this a place to call home for a while. Here we have everything we love including an open airy space, beautiful light and all the feels of an amazing coffee cafe. We have everything but the kitchen sink! This means we are building a prep area so that you can smell the biscuits baking and the syrups  simmering! So celebrate with us because we aren't going anywhere!

It's You . . .

Everybody knows that you don’t open a coffee shop without an espresso machine. And we agreed. “You must offer coffee drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos and americanos in order to serve your customers fully.”

Summer is Shining at Innova Coffee!

As we peeled the backing off of our front door cling and pressed it on, we again felt so grateful. We stood back and looked at it. Really? Just 5 months into this Innova venture and we have settled into the most beautiful brick and mortar imaginable! We simply can't believe this journey. While we were living in a bit of a fog wondering whether this Coffee Shop idea would bloom, there was a plan all along. And here we are, serving coffee and goodies in this space that has been lavished upon us.

Settling In . . .

Each day that we walk into this new space where Innova Coffee has landed we have a sense of gratitude. Landed? Not really. It’s more like we were providentially placed and intentionally planted even while our "launch" phase was in full swing.

Burn the Boats

Getting up close and personal this week with a "vlog".What's a vlog? It's a blog in which the posting is in video form. Tyler shares with us the illustration of "Burning the Boats". What does this have to do with coffee?

52 + 30 + 2 = 250 (approximately)

How's that? Well, it's not the "new math" it's just a meaningful way for me to look back over recent developments and how they've come about. 52 is my age, (Really? Wow.) 30 is the number of days since the launch of Innova Coffee, and 2 is the number of pieces of equipment we've used to hand brew our craft coffee, two cups at a time.

Why Innova?

Innova coffee gatherings are our way of accomplishing this vision before we even have a space. Some people call it a marketing strategy, it’s not. It’s allowing this vision to drive us to do what we can with what we have.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

A journey to where? And what is that single first step anyway?

Some of you probably live life with great intention and have plans that extend many years into the future. My Dad used to say with conviction “Plan your work and work your plan” and he actually lived it out.

But at some point in life, however intentional and organized, I believe we all face some measure of the unexpected. That is where I find myself, pursuing something meant for young entrepreneurs and I am neither.
